Sacroiliac Joint Pain
What is the Sacroiliac Joint?
The sacroiliac (S/I) joint, is a semi-fixed joint that connects the sacrum with the pelvis. This joint is a strong, weight-bearing joint that helps ensure proper mobility and function of the body in day-to-day tasks. The overall function of this joint can be greatly compromised by surrounding structures such as ligaments, muscles, and bones. If this joint or surrounding joints are significantly injured or damaged, severe pain and discomfort can occur and cause unexplainable pain in the groin, hips, or buttocks region.
If you have generalized pain or sharp, shooting pain in the back, legs, or hips, contact Total HealthCare Non-Surgical Joint and Spine Centers today. Our expert team of physicians and other medical professionals can identify the possible complications stemming from your knees and other load-bearing areas that can contribute to S/I joint problems.
Common symptoms of S/I joint pain may include:
- Pain in the groin area
- Sudden back pain
- Pain in the legs
- Inflammation of the legs
- Sciatic-type nerve pain
Treatments for S/I Pain
At Total HealthCare Non-Surgical Joint and Spine Centers, we take the time to get to know each of our patients and understand the specific pain that every person is experiencing. We want to make sure that you receive a personalized, comprehensive plan that will help you reduce or eliminate your pain.
For some S/I patients, realignment through chiropractic care, improvement of overall health of the joints, and working to reduce ligament laxity help significantly with overcoming joint pain. Do not settle for another steroid or corticosteroid injection.
